ECS is a manufacturer and supplier of (low to middle voltage) electrical switchgear and panels in Uganda. These products are essentially the interfacing equipment between the power service utility provider and a final consumer power income in industries, factories, farms and commercial installations.
The investment project concerns the manufacturing of low to middle voltage distribution transformers (11 & 33 kV), which is the final voltage transformation in the electrical power system, stepping down the voltage used in the distribution lines to the level used by the customer. The manufacturing of distribution transformers is an upstream product in ECS portfolio.
