Solu Hydropower Private Limited is a private company which handles the project of developing, constructing and operating a 82MW hydro power station on the Solu River in the Solukhumbu district of the Eastern Development Region of Nepal. Once operational, the project will provide clean electricity to a staggering 3.1 million people in Nepal. BIO invests 20 million to support this impact-full hydro project.

In complement of its investment, BIO supports a technical assistance project financed by its Business Development Support Fund. The main objective of this TA project is to ensure that the infrastructure project is compliant with IFC performance standards by offering environmental and social advices and services.

Early identification of E&S risks and opportunities allows BIO and its clients to reduce business risks, increase profits and business value and to improve development impact.
