IFB announces new CEO
Impact Finance Belgium (IFB) announced the next CEO to lead and scale-up the organisation to the next level.

On 8 October, Steven Serneels, the Chair and Co-Founder of IFB announced Pierre Harkay as the next CEO of IFB. Pierre Harkay is the manager Development and Sustainability of BIO Invest, the Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries. Pierre is a well-known figure in the Belgian impact ecosystem and has developed over the years a deep knowledge and understanding of sustainable and impact investing. He will lead and scale-up IFB to the next level.

Pierre is a well-known figure in the Belgian impact eco-system and has developed over the years a deep knowledge and understanding of sustainable and impact investing. He is currently the manager Development and Sustainability of BIO Invest, the Belgian Investment Company for Developing Countries, and leads a team of 8 people specialised in Impact Measurement & Management, Sustainability Reporting and Sustainable Advisory Services. Prior to his work at BIO Invest, he was, amongst others, Energy & Climate Advisor at the Federation of Belgian Enterprises (FEB/VBO), Economic Advisor at the British Embassy to Belgium and Economist in the Financial Markets Department of the National Bank of Belgium.
Pierre’s journey to this position is a testament to his commitment to sustainable development, his understanding of the financial sector, and his leadership qualities. BIO Invest is proud to see one of its managers rise to this role.
