The Ventureast Proactive Fund II seeks to invest in seed and early-stage businesses addressing the needs of India’s under-served markets where technology is a strong differentiator. The fund expects these opportunities to emerge in fintech, entreprise applications, cloud, mobile internet, Internet of Things and consumer internet.

VenturEast II is the successor fund of VenturEast Proactive Fund I, which closed in 2008 at $108 million.

The fund will invest in technologic SMEs in India. It focuses on reaching customers in underserved markets, primarily in rural and semi-urban areas. It also aims at delivering real-world benefits via modern technology to its end users. India specific problems need solutions deep rooted in innovative technologies that can scale, in their reach as well as impact
Access to basic services & goods
The Fund focuses on investees that are part of the mobile revolution. Investees look at the needs of the lower to middle class and how their (technological) activities can improve B2B and B2C.
Promotion of ESG best practices
The Fund will introduce / enhance social practices both at the investee level and fund level (compliance min. wage, child labour = IFC PS)
