BIO has given Technical Assistance to Niche Cocoa to cover the provision of extension and certification services to farmer-based organizations in the Suhum area and the Volta region to build farmers’ capacity in organic cocoa farming and achieve organic certification. As the organic cocoa sector in Ghana is still in a nascent stage, the TA will give an important boost to the sector. Niche will benefit through a secured supply of organic cocoa beans and cocoa farmers through increased incomes and improved health.
