MFS is a non-profit association created to promote the commitment and socio-environmental responsibility of the Paraguayan financial sector; through the coordination of efforts between different national and international actors and/or the implementation of projects and initiatives that contribute to the development of a more sustainable economy.
Currently, MFS has 17 member entities (12 private banking entities, 3 non-banking financial entities, a public bank and the second-tier entity).
MFS maintains a permanent dialogue with BIO on the challenges in capacity building in the new topics that form the trend of financial markets, including the development of taxonomies, the incorporation of climate risks, and the decarbonization of portfolios.
Technical assistance
BIO will provide technical assistance to MFS, contributing to a climate training initiative for banking professionals.
Expected impact
The participants in the workshop will deepen their technical knowledge on the opportunities of climate financing and the risks linked to climate change faced by financial institutions.
