The project consists of the design, construction, operation and maintenance of a run-of-river hydropower plant (incl. transmission line) on the Upano River in the province of Morona, Santiago in Southeast Ecuador. Under a 40 years concession agreement, the plant will generate 345,83 GWh of clean energy every year.
Development impacts

Access to clean, stable and affordable electricity for private consumers and SMEs. The project will help to balance electricity supply and demand with renewable sources of energy.
-
Fight against climate change
Clean energy generation without additional CO2 emissions. The project will replace other non-renewable and polluting sources of energy (reduction of the greenhouse effect through the substitution of oil. The estimated additional GHG avoidance of approx. 163.583 t CO2/year.
