Gebana Burkina Faso is a subsidiary of Gebana AG (headquartered in Switzerland) and one of the leading processors of cashew nuts and dried mangoes in the country. The company operates from Bobo-Dioulasso and obtains its supplies from more than 4,000 smallholders.
The company currently has two processing sites in Bobo-Dioulasso. One site is dedicated to processing cashew nuts and the other to mangoes. Gebana aims to expand its processing capacity by building a new factory on land acquired in the Bobo-Dioulasso region. The new plant will increase production capacity and product quality. To build this new plant, Gebana is benefitting from an investment of BIO.
As part of the investment agreement with BIO, Gebana needs to improve it's E&S management system.
Technical Assistance
The technical assistance will support GBF to improve its E&S management system in view of the running of a newly built cashew and mango processing factory.
Expected impact
A consultancy will:
- Revise, add and improve GBF’s current documents and provide staff with training on the implementation of E&S policies
- Improve the internal control manual by including roles and responsibilities, as well as procedures relating to E&S management
- Develop a stakeholder engagement plan and a supply chain management policy and procedure
