Technical assitance facility
The objective of the facility is to
- To leverage the provided resources to build a robust programmatic approach for portfolio-wide business and impact support;
- To add value to address portfolio company needs in three priority areas of impact potential for the Fund
- gender action,
- climate solutions, and
- environmental and social (E&S) capacity;
- To deliver strategic interventions to strengthen the Fund portfolio’s business performance while enhancing their impact outcomes;
- To provide innovative business models for replication and learning by other businesses in the region, and to set an example for such interventions in the impact investing industry.
Expected impact
The expected result of the project will be a strengthened TA facility able to systematically deliver critical (business) support to companies. BIO's support will enable the Fund to expand and deepen its ongoing work with portfolio investees to drive change on gender equality and climate change, in addition to strengthening companies’ E&S and their organisational, financial, and management practices and processes, while improving capacity at all levels to assess and report on impact.
