Banco Guayaquil is an Ecuadorian universal bank with more than 95 years of experience in the country, an excellent track record and a significant MSME portfolio.
Technical assistance
The objective of this project is to design an organisation-wide strategy for Banco Guayaquil that embeds climate change adaptation. To do this, the following is required:
- Valorise the risks and opportunities of climate change in sectors of vulnerable and priority clients of Banco Guayaquil, considering the physical and transitional climate risks.
- Calculate Banco Guayaquil's indirect greenhouse gas emissions (scope 3), including on investments in priority sectors of the bank.
- Define targets for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in scopes 1, 2 and 3, with validation from the Science Based Targets Initiative.
- Complete the Carbon Disclosure Project questionnaire.
- Define and approve the Climate Change Strategy for application in the medium and long term at Banco Guayaquil.
- Assistance in joining the Net Zero Banking Alliance
