Kenya Commercial Bank Kenya (KCBK) is a subsidiary of the holding of KCB Group (KCBG), the largest banking group in east Africa and leading the market in terms of branch network (360), assets (around USD 9 bn) and customer base (around 22.8 M) with presence in 7 countries: Kenya (HQ), Tanzania, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi & Ethiopia (representative office).

Technical assistance

The main objectives of the Programme are:

  • Enhancement of Beneficiary’s existing E&S risk categorization process which informs the bank’s Environmental and Social Due Diligence and conveys the bank’s
    understanding of the potential magnitude of the E&S risks and impacts of transactions proposed for financing
  • Development of training materials and train the Beneficiary staff (relationship managers, compliance managers, credit analysts and the trainers (the E&S champions) with respect to E&S, IFC Performance Standards, ...
