The Bir El Haffey solar project consists of a 10MWp solar PV plant located 9km South of Bir El Haffey, in the Sidi Bouzid Governorate.
The project will help to balance electricity supply and demand with renewable sources of energy. The project will not only reduce the Tunisian electricity deficit but reduce the country’s dependence on thermal sources of energy.
The Technical Assistance will co-finance the first phase of a comprehensive due diligence of the transaction including environmental & social and technical. In this context, the lenders will contract external independent experts with local expertise (E&S) and international standing (Technical).

expected production of 18.000 MWh of clean electricity for an equivalent of 12.465 people in a country where demand for electricity exceeds supply.

The project will create temporary workforce during construction (+- 100 jobs) and 15 permanent jobs during operation. In terms of economic effects, this will also reduce Tunisia’s dependence on oil fuels imports, reduced outages and contribute to positive currency effects.
