Cauris Croissance II is an investment fund focusing on areas such as financial services, general manufacturing and services, information and communications technology, and infrastructure service industries in Burkina Faso, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo. The Fund was launched in 2011 and is expected to generate about 1,100 jobs, of which 149 are expected to go to women.

Development impact:

  • Local economic growth: The Fund is targeting SMEs in West-Africa to provide them with (i) long term capital, (ii) cross-competencies and (iii) access to new markets. There have been only few private equity groups that have been active in this field.
  • Private sector consolidation: Cauris usually plays a major role in the governance of the companies. It is always member of the Board and usually participates to Executive Committees. The close monitoring and reporting requirements favor the transfer of know-how in regards of accounting, marketing and strategy.
